GF Piping Systems' V782, V82, and V182 pressure-reducing valves set the pressure drop in the system. 
The pressure-reducing valve adjusts itself to the set working pressure by means of differential pressure.
Outlet pressure (working pressure) is not directly related to inlet pressure.
If the outlet pressure rises above the desired value or falls below the desired value, the diaphragm will rise or fall under the pressure of the spring, depending on the outlet pressure.
The pressure relief valve begins to close/open until equilibrium is re-established; in other words, the outlet pressure will remain the same regardless of whether the inlet pressure increases or decreases.
